I'm excited to report that Studio Velo has announced to Pre-Death Ride Trip to the Sierras on June 24th. This is a great opportunity to ride the entire Death Ride course without 3000 other riders but get full support. Having done the Death Ride myself last year it's truly a zoo, even with an early departure. We were on the road at 4:30 AM with lights and caught a beautiful dawn over Monitor pass ascent but there were still plenty of riders with the same idea and the numbers only get worse as the day wears on.
That said this is an opportunity to enjoy the all the upsides (superb climbs, awesome scenery, riding with friends, and a support vehicle) without the negatives (out of control riders descending, crowds, losing your friends). Plus you'll run up some impressive stats for the day - 123 miles and 15K in (hopefully under) 10 hours and the certain probability of generating an epic Strava suffer score.
