March KOM Challenge Winners

It's hard to believe the year's a quarter over and so much vertical has been attained. In the next blog post we'll do some major number crunching but now is the time to acknowledge this months winners.

Once again Brian Toone, Patti Whyte, MTBR.com and Studio Velo have stepped up to the high spot on the podium, repeat stage winners all the way around. Congratulations everyone. Well done. ( Note, starting next month,  repeat prize winners in all categories will pass their winnings to 2nd, 3rd and 4th place to share the great gear to more riders)

Brian outdid himself again, racking 180K feet for the month; we'll cut him some slack for dialing on the daily average over February... maybe he's a bit fatigued after racking up a 531,708 feet for the three months (I'm still wondering if I can manage that for a year!). Brian and Patti each take home the top honors prize (CAPO apparel including full kits,  jersey  and other great gear valued @ over $440, courtesy of CAPO and Studio Velo).

However,  we do have some newcomers to the podium: on the men's side. Jason Spencer of team Cycling Tips in Australia and Cheryl Shwe of Red Racing each pulls in 3 Pair of high end Capo cycling socks,  and 3rd place finishers Gary Williams of Vamoscycling (riding on holiday in the south of Spain) and AJ Sura of SoCalTrailRiders in Mission Viejo, CA each snag a CAPO T-Shirt.

Be sure to check out the KOM Challenge prize page, where you can keep tabs on the growing stash of really great prizes, which includes a couple of top of the line frames (your choice of a steel road, mountain or cross frame) from Independent Fabrication, more great cycling apparel from CAPO, eye wear from Rudy Project and Strava.com memberships and T-Shirts.

Also be sure to check out the new Strava iPhone App.  And tell your friends. There's no better time than the present than to spread the word on the Studio Velo 2011 KOM Challenge.
